NASA Ames Space Settlement Contest
Award: $3,000
Deadline: 2/15/2019
Description: This contest is for students in grades 7 through 12 from anywhere in the world. To apply, applicants must develop a design for an orbital space settlement and related materials. Applicants may work as individuals or teams. See website for more details.

Moody’s Mega Math (M3) Challenge
Award: Up to 100,000 in scholarships available
Application Open: Early November 2018
Deadline: March 1st, 2019 – March 4th, 2019
Description: This scholarship is for high school juniors and seniors participating in Moody’s Mega Math Challenge and be one of the top winning teams. To enter the competition, applicants must form a team of three to five students and one teacher from the same school. A maximum of two teams per school may register for the challenge. Teams choose a day in which they have 14 hours to solve a open-ended, realistic, applied math-modeling problem focused on a real-world issue.

ACS Scholars Program
Award: Up to $5,000
Application Opens: November 1st, 2018
Deadline: 3/1/2019
Description: This scholarship award is for African American, Native American, and Hispanic/Latino students who are planning to pursue full-time study in a chemically-related field. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be graduating high school seniors, college freshmen, college sophomores, or college juniors; have a 3.0 GPA; demonstrate financial need; and be planning a career in the chemical sciences.

Award: $10,000 Renewable
Deadline: 3/2/2018
Description: This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students who are pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field. To qualify, applicants must belong to an underrepresented group in computer science, defined as follows: 1) African American, Hispanic, American Indian, Filipino/Native American/Pacific Islander; 2) women; or 3) individuals with a disability.

ASHG DNA Day Essay Contest
Award: $1,000
Application Open: Early January 2019
Deadline: 3/8/2019
Description: This essay contest is for students in grades 9 through 12 in the United States and internationally. To apply, applicants must submit an essay in response to a given question related to genetics.
