In the world of performing arts and higher education, The Juilliard School has been involved since 1905.   • What makes Juilliard stand out?

The Juilliard School has a history of over 110 years of artistic training in the arts of dance, drama, and music. Juilliard students are intensely focused on their art forms, spending time practicing, rehearsing, and performing, as well as taking classes in the liberal arts. Ultimately, students graduate with a four-year bachelor’s degree, prepared to be artists and citizens of the world.

  • What support services do you offer? 

In addition to student organizations, The Juilliard School provides support services in the areas of health (medical treatments, psychological counseling, physical therapy, nutrition, etc.), the Writing and Communication Center (for academic support), and individual tutoring. With an average size of 850 students, Juilliard’s four-year graduation rate is 94.1%.

  • What should College Greenlight students know about Juilliard’s financial aid? 

All applicants must complete the FAFSA and the CSS Profile to be considered for institutional scholarships and aid. In addition to government funds, applicants may qualify for Juilliard funds. These funds are awarded on the basis of both merit and need. There is no separate application for aid, but the FAFSA and the CSS Profile must be submitted by March 1

  • What make’s Juilliard’s campus unique?

Juilliard is located in Manhattan, at the center of New York City. We are one of the dozen resident organizations at Lincoln Center; others include the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet, Film at Lincoln Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the New York Library for the Performing Arts. In addition, Juilliard is a few short blocks from Carnegie Hall, a few subway stops from the theaters of Broadway, and close to everything that New York City has to offer.

Getting into Juilliard is tough, but the reward is being surrounded by fellow students who inspire and challenge you. Students come to Juilliard to get better at their art—What better place to be than in the heart of New York City, in the midst of art-making of the highest order!
