Much like students wanting to learn more about a particular institution, colleges and universities also offer counselor fly-in and visit programs to college counselors across the country. These programs offer excellent opportunities participate in professional development, network with other professionals, and expand a counselor’s knowledge of colleges and universities that they can recommend to their students.
Our list includes two kinds of programs: some that have participants visit multiple colleges in a region over the span of a few days, as well as fly-in programs that allow counselors to get the feel of one particular college or university. Programs take place year-round, and often fill up quickly; if you’re interested, take note of upcoming deadlines or, if the program has already taken place in 2016, look into attending next year.
