December Scholarships

We can’t believe it’s almost December! Time flies when you’re having fun, and nothing is more fun than free money for college. That’s why we’re bringing you a great list of scholarships just in time for the holidays!

Take a break from making snowmen, sitting by the fireplace, or wrapping presents and treat yourself to a few thousand dollars of free money. Remember, these scholarships are listed by date. We’ve divided these scholarships into two sections: awards for high school students, and awards for college students. Scholarships for High School Students

Alberta E. Crowe Star of Tomorrow Scholarship 

Deadline: December 1

Award: $6,000

This scholarship is for women who are current USBC Youth members in good standing. To qualify, applicants must be high school seniors or current college students and have a current 3.0 GPA or better.

Annual Zeb Scholarship 

Deadline: December 1

Award: $2,500

This scholarship is for USBC Youth members in good standing. To qualify, applicants must be high school juniors or seniors and have a current 3.0 GPA.

Christopher Reeve Award 

Deadline: December 1

Award: $1,000

This scholarship is for middle school and high school students who have demonstrated tremendous compassion and caring in service to their community.

Soroptomist Violet Richardson Award 

Deadline: December 1

Award: $1,000

This scholarship is for women between the ages of 14 and 17. To qualify, applicants must have demonstrated initiative in both identifying a problem and trying to solve it and have had significant and noteworthy experience as volunteers.

AFA Educational Foundation Scholarship 

Deadline: December 1

Award: $1,500

This scholarship is for students who are currently employed in the fence, deck, and railing industry or who are children of current employees.

Dr. Robert H. Goddard Scholarship 

Deadline: December 2

Award: $10,000

This scholarship is for students who are pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies in science or engineering.

National Space Club Keynote Scholarship 

Deadline: December 2

Award: $10,000

This scholarship is for high school seniors, college undergraduate students, and graduate students with definite plans to pursue a career in the science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) fields.

P.L.A.Y. Scholarships

Deadline: December 3

Award: $1,000

This scholarship is for full-time high school juniors and seniors who are passionate about helping animals in need.

Letters About Literature Competition 

Deadline: December 4

Award: $1,000

This competition is for students in grades 4 through 12 and home schooled students at equivalent grade levels.

Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship 

Deadline: December 5

Award: $5,000

This scholarship is for students ages 5-25 (kindergarten through graduate school) who are enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the United States.

Youth Free Expression Project Film Contest 

Deadline: December 14

Award: $1,000

This contest is for students who are 19 years of age or younger and residents of the United States and its territories.

Anne Ford Scholarship

Deadline: December 15

Award: $2,500

This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who have a learning disability.

Burger King Scholars Program

Deadline: December 15

Award: $50,000

This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who are residents of the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Scholarships 

Deadline: December 15

Award: $1,000

These scholarships are for students in grades 7-12, who are enrolled in a public, private, parochial, homeschool, or after-school program in the United States, Canada, or an American school abroad.

Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship 

Deadline: December 15

Award: $30,000

This scholarship is for current students at an accredited US community college or two-year institution with sophomore status by December 31, 2014, and for recent graduates (since Spring 2010).

AXA Achievement Scholarship 

Deadline: December 15

Award: $25,000

This scholarship is for current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2015-2016 school year.

Gulen Institute Youth Platform Essay Contest

Deadline: December 15

Award: $3,000

This contest is for high school students who are currently enrolled in 9th through 12th grade at a public or private school in the United States and from around the world.

Persian Scholarship Foundation Scholarship 

Deadline: December 15

Award: $1,000

This scholarship is for students who are currently enrolled in a high school, college, or university in the United States.

Imagine America College Scholarships for High School Students

Deadline: December 31

Award: $1,000

This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors and recent graduates who are pursuing post-secondary education at a participating US career college.

Girls Impact the World Film Festival Scholarships 

Deadline: December 31

Award: $5,000

This scholarship is for high school and undergraduate students who are 25 years of age or under as of the application deadline. To qualify, applicants must be enrolled full-time and be under 25 years of age. To apply, applicants must submit a three- to five-minute film that raises awareness about current issues affecting women and girls and/or proposes solutions to current challenges faced by women.
