If you’re a rising high school junior or senior, you’re likely clawing at any information you can get a hold of about the next step in life—college. The University of Denver wants to provide a uniquely all-around experience for its prospective Latinx, Black, and African American students.

Pioneer Prep Leadership Institute is a 3-day event solely about benefiting you. It’s three days of engaging speakers, activities, and mingling with other scholars who are also wading their way through the college decision and application process.

It’s about engaging with your cultural identity while fostering leadership qualities and discussing the ins and outs of higher education.

The program costs? $60! That’s right – there is no fee to apply and if you are accepted the entire program costs just $60 to confirm your attendance.

Aren’t in the DU area? That definitely doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply. Pioneer Prep offers a number of limited travel stipends to students who really want to take advantage of their 3-day program. A travel stipend would cover round-trip airfare as well as a shuttle from the airport to the college! Just fill out the corresponding portion of the application to be considered.

Next, after attending Pioneer Prep, the $65 application fee to apply to the University of Denver will be waived. On top of that, if you’re admitted to the University of Denver and meet the financial need criteria, you’ll also automatically be considered for a DU Pathways Scholarship! It’s worth $7,500 and can be renewed all four years you attend the University of Denver—that’s definitely worth the time putting in an application.

This doesn’t end with a 3-day event and that’s it, though. If you decide to attend the University of Denver, Pioneer Prep has activities every quarter to keep you, DU staff, and other Pioneer Prep scholars connected and engaged. It’s the start of a network that can assist you on your mission for success!
