Last week, we posted a list of scholarships for students who live in northern California and today we have covered the second half of the state. Here, we’ve collected a list of scholarships for students living in Southern California, including the Los Angeles and San Diego areas.  As with any scholarship listed, make sure you check out their web page to see if you qualify, and pay close attention to the application deadlines; the list includes scholarships with deadlines that are year around, so you may have to keep note of scholarships that will be available next year.

 

Schwartz Scholarship Fund

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

This scholarship is for junior and senior high school students who are legal residents of California. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in an accredited public or private high school (home-school students are not eligible) and have GPA of 3.25 or higher. Applicants must have a total household income of less than $150,000.

AWARD RANGE:               $500 – $1,000

 

Clair A. Hill Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

This scholarship is for residents of California who demonstrate a commitment to the field of water resources and are pursuing a degree related to, or identified with, engineering, agricultural, and/or urban water supply, environmental studies, or public administration.

AVERAGE AWARD:          $5,000

 

Edison Scholars Program

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

This scholarship is for high school seniors who live in or attend an eligible public or private high school in areas serviced by Southern California Edison (SCE) or attend an eligible high school in the designated area surrounding SCE’s San Onofre Nuclear Generating station (SONGS).

 

Kelly A. McAdams Memorial Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

This scholarship is for seniors at high schools in San Luis Obispo County, California. To qualify, applicants must plan to enroll full-time at a four-year college or university during the 2015/2016 academic year, exhibit a strong academic record, demonstrate leadership or involvement in the school community, and have financial need.

 

Yeager Science Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

This scholarship is for graduating seniors at Coast Union, Morro Bay, and Paso Robles High Schools in San Luis Obispo County, California. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be in a physical/technical area: chemistry, physics, geology, mathematics, engineering, and computer science.

AVERAGE AWARD:          $23,000

 

 

Banatao Family Filipino American Education Fund College Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

This scholarship is for incoming college freshmen in California who are of Filipino descent (at least 50%). To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and plan to pursue a career in engineering or physical or biological sciences.

AVERAGE AWARD:          $5,000

 

Eustace-Kwan Family Foundation Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

This scholarship is for promising high school and first- or second- year college students that have a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.

DEADLINE:          Feb 25

AVERAGE AWARD:          $10,000

 

Warner Bros. Burbank Honorship

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

This scholarship is for graduating seniors from high schools in Burbank, California. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a passion for a career in the entertainment industry; effective verbal and written communication skills; and a minimum GPA of 3.0 upon graduation.

AVERAGE AWARD:          $2,500

 

Warner Bros. Los Angeles County Honorship

SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW

This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors in Los Angeles County, California. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have a passion for a career in the entertainment industry.

AVERAGE AWARD:          $2,500
