Point Foundation Scholarship
Award: $5,000
Deadline: 1/30/2018
Description: High school seniors and undergraduate students must be enrolled or enrolling full-time at an accredited four-year institution in U.S. Must be “out” as a person who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ community and working for the betterment of the LGBTQ community. Demonstrated financial need is required. Finalist must be available to fly to Los Angeles in order to remain eligible for the scholarship. All travel expenses will be covered by Point.

AABE William Grant Pinkard Scholarship
Award: $5,000
Deadline: 2/3/2018
Description: This scholarship is for African American, Hispanic, or Native American high school seniors planning to major in business, engineering, technology, mathematics, or physical science. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum overall 3.0 GPA in math and science courses.

The Jackie Robinson Scholarship
Award: $7,000
Deadline: 2/15/2018
Description: This scholarship is for high school seniors who identify as a minority and plan to attend an accredited 4-year U.S. institution. Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership potential, dedication to community service, and financial need. Minimum SAT score of 1,000 combined on the math and critical reading sections or a composite ACT score of 21.

ACS Scholars Program
Award: $2,500
Deadline: 3/1/2018
Description: This scholarship is for an African American, Hispanic, or American Indian high school senior, or college freshman, sophomores, or juniors, pursuing a college degree in the chemical sciences or chemical technology.

Maureen L. and Howard Blitman, P.E., Scholarship
Award: $5,000
Deadline: 3/1/2018
Description: This scholarship is for high school seniors who are members of an underrepresented ethnic minority in the field of engineering: African American, American Indian, or Hispanic. To qualify, applicants must be accepted into an ABET-accredited engineering program at a four-year college/university and be US citizens. Scholarships will be awarded based on GPA, internship/co-op experience and community involvement, faculty recommendations, honors/scholarships/awards, and answers to the questions on the application.

Deadline: 3/2/2018
Description: This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students who are pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field. To qualify, applicants must belong to an underrepresented group in computer science, defined as follows: 1) African American, Hispanic, American Indian, Filipino/Native American/Pacific Islander; 2) women; or 3) individuals with a disability. Undergraduate and graduate student applications will open in Fall 2017. High school seniors can currently apply.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Award: $500 – $5,000

Description: This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors and college students who are a United States citizens or legal permanent residents and are of Hispanic heritage. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time students in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, or Guam.

Congressional Black Caucus Spouses Heineken USA Performing Arts Scholarship
Award: $3,000
Deadline: 4/20/2018
Description: This scholarship is for students who are preparing to pursue or are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in a field that will lead to a career in the performing arts, including drama, music, dance, opera, marching bands, and other musical ensembles. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be enrolled full-time, have a 2.5 GPA, exhibit leadership ability, and participate in community service activities. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.

Congressional Black Caucus Spouses Visual Arts Scholarship
Award: $3,000
Deadline: 4/20/2018
Description: This scholarship is for African American or Black High school seniors pursuing a visual arts degree, which includes architecture, ceramics, drawing, fashion, graphic design, illustration, interior design, painting, photography, sketching, video production and other decorative arts. Applicants must submit an application including resume, photograph, two recommendation letters, official transcript, Federal Student Aid Report, and five original artwork pieces. A 2.5 GPA or above is required.

Randy Falco Scholarship
Award: $10,000

Description: Awarded to a Hispanic or Latino students pursuing a career in any aspect of the television industry.

Blacks at Microsoft Scholarship

Award amount: $5,000
Deadline: March 1

This scholarship is for college-bound high school seniors of African American descent who are passionate about technology. Applicants must plan to study engineering, computer science, computer information systems or select business programs (such as finance, business administration or marketing). Applicants must hold a minimum 3.3 GPA.

Emma L. Bowen Foundation for Minority Interests in Media Work/Study Program

Award amount: Varies
Deadline: March 31

Minority students who are graduating high school seniors or college freshmen are eligible for this work/study program. Applicants must be pursuing a career in the media industry.

The Gates Scholarship

Award amount: Varies
Deadline: September 15

This scholarship is open to low-income, minority high school seniors. It provides funding for the remaining financial need after all other financial aid has been awarded.

Generation Google Scholarship

Award amount: $10,000
Deadline: Early March

This scholarship is for college-bound high school seniors who are minorities and pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or a related field. Individuals with a disability pursuing an eligible degree also can apply for this scholarship. Male students can apply here and female students can apply here.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholarships

Award amount: $500 to $5,000
Deadline: March 30

High school and college students of Hispanic heritage are eligible for this scholarship.  Students must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program

Award amount: Up to $40,000
Deadline: Late September

College-bound high school seniors who have received standardized testing scores in the top 15 percent (a combined SAT score of 1,200 or above and/or an ACT composite score of 26).

State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship

Award amount: $2,500
Deadline: March 1

This scholarship is for college-bound high school seniors. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and demonstrate financial need.

UNCF/Koch Scholars Program

Award amount: $5,000/year
Deadline: April 1

African American students who plan to study/are currently studying accounting, business, economics, engineering, history, philosophy or political science are eligible for this scholarship. Students must hold a minimum 2.7 GPA.

Wells Fargo American Indian Scholarship Program

Award amount: Varies
Deadline: May 1

This scholarship is for members of an American Indian tribe or Alaska Native group. Applicants must be studying banking, resort management, gaming operations, management and administration (including accounting, finance, information technology and human resources). Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Wentcher Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is for graduating high school seniors in the Chicago Public Schools. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and been accepted to an accredited college or university. Scholarships will be awarded based on talent, need and character.

Scholarships aren’t always based on academics – some celebrate a person’s heritage. Take a look at these scholarships for students of Hispanic descent.

HACU IES Abroad Diversity Scholarship – This scholarship is for students attending Hispanic-Serving institutions that are members of Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). The scholarship award amount typically ranges between $2,500 and $5,000. Applicants must hold a minimum 3.3 GPA.

CORE Que Llueva Cafe Scholarship – Undocumented students of Chicano/Latino descent are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship award amount typically is $500.

Latinos in Technology Scholarship – This scholarship is for students of Hispanic descent who have a declared major in and have been accepted into a STEM program. Students must hold a minimum 2.5 GPA. The award amount for this scholarship typically is $10,000.

La Unidad Latina Foundation Scholarships – College students of Hispanic descent are eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship award amount typically ranges between $500 and $1,000.

Cascajal Foundation Scholarship – This scholarship is for graduating high school students from Houston who are of Columbia descent. Applicants must hold a minimum 2.0 GPA and submit an essay with their application. The award amount for this scholarship typically is $500.

MillerCoors National Scholarship – Incoming college juniors and seniors of Hispanic descent are eligible for this scholarship. Applicants must be studying an eligible major, see website for details. The typical award amount for this scholarship is $3,000.

Danny Gutierrez Memorial Scholarship – This scholarship is for students of Hispanic descent who are studying electronics and/or engineering and need financial assistance to attend college. The award amount for this scholarship varies.

NSHMBA Foundation Scholarship Program – To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be NSHMBA members and of Hispanic descent. Students must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA. The award amount for this scholarship typically ranges between $2,500 and $10,000.

Rixio Medina & Associates Hispanics in Safety ScholarshipStudents of Hispanic descent pursuing a degree in occupational safety and health or a closely related field are eligible for this scholarship. The award for this scholarship typically is $4,000.

Great Minds in STEM / HENAAC Scholars Program – This scholarship is for students of Hispanic origin who participate in and promote organizations and activities in the Hispanic community. The award amount for this scholarship typically ranges between $500 and $10,000.
